Gary Johnson in Iowa 2012 poll

In Gary Johnson, Gary Johnson 2012, GOP on March 9, 2010 by Josiah Schmidt

The new conservative news and opinion website Rightosphere.com has commissioned a professional public opinion poll from the new polling organization Right Way Marketing regarding Iowans’ preferences for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.  Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson was one of five likely-to-run candidates for President.  Johnson was the least well-known candidate of the five, but this marks his first inclusion as a major candidate in a reputable public opinion survey.  It will be interesting to see how Gary Johnson’s numbers rise as his name recognition does so.  Johnson is widely considered to be a more mainstream version of Ron Paul, who garnered 10% of the vote in Iowa in 2008

Among Registered Voters

  • Mike Huckabee 16.7%
  • Mitt Romney 13.7%
  • Sarah Palin 11.3%
  • Tim Pawlenty 1.3%
  • Gary Johnson 0.3%
